Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP (CGCC)

The Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP (CGCC), a 2025 Gold Seal awarded chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), is a not-for-profit organization comprised of dedicated public procurement professionals serving agencies throughout the Florida Panhandle and Gulf Coast region.

Our membership represents a diverse network of state and local governments, special districts, utilities, and public education institutions—united by a commitment to professional excellence, continuing education, ethical stewardship of public resources, and strong community partnerships.

Chartered in June 2003, the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP was established to support procurement professionals across northwest Florida and southern Alabama. Today, our chapter proudly serves a region known for its vibrant coastal communities—including cities and counties such as Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, and beyond—each offering a unique blend of natural beauty, economic growth, and civic pride.

From world-class beaches and thriving military installations to innovative local governments and strong small-business communities, the Florida Panhandle and Gulf Coast area provide an exceptional environment for public procurement professionals. Serving the public here means working alongside engaged citizens, forward-thinking public leaders, and agencies dedicated to transparency, efficiency, and service excellence.

As the 84th chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, CGCC NIGP continues to advance the profession by offering high-quality education, training, mentorship, and networking opportunities that strengthen both individual practitioners and the agencies they support. We are committed to ethical, innovative, and responsible procurement practices that positively impact our region every day.

OUR MISSION AND GOALS

CGCC NIGP strives to establish and maintain professional function and stature for the field of public sector purchasing and materials management through:

  • Raising and maintaining the standards and ethics of all governmental purchasing and materials management departments, agencies, and organizations wherever performed. 

  • studying, discussing, recommending and aiding in implementation of improvements in the designated field of endeavor to obtain the optimum value of products and services without prejudice and to assure greatest ultimate economy to the users.

  • the interchange of ideas and experiences and obtaining expert advice on local, state, national and international problems pertinent to this discipline.

  • collection and distribution to applicable officials of information on the organization and administration of these and related functions.

  • development and promotion of simplified standards and specifications for functional performance.
